BREAD & BUTTER- YEAST!
Saturday, July 9 Noon to 3: $30 adult, $10 Child ages 10 to 16 Includes museum admission.
Spend an afternoon exploring the methods of making the simplest of life’s pleasures, bread and butter. Students will learn the basics of several forms of yeast, what to do if the recipe calls for a packet and you only have a cake, the basic science of why some attempts work and others fail, and get some hands on to feel when bread is kneaded enough, risen enough and more. While we are waiting for our class dough to rise, we will make a small batch of butter and try our hand at creating some flavored butters.
